Cascade Clamps - Cascade Manufacturing Company was established in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943. They began as a small machine shop in the beginning employing 4 people. Product sales for their initial year of operation amounted to about 60 thousand dollars. The very first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless-steel pipe fittings, valves and different parts. Throughout 5 years of operation, the business had stretched to forty workers and their annual sales volume had risen to 330 thousand dollars. Now, Cascade is one of the leading worldwide makers in the material handling business.
Design and manufacturing of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder allowed this new business to aggressively pursue better business opportunities. All through the final sixty years, the trade of material handling has grown into a very sophisticated field with Cascade proudly playing a part in its progress. Cascade at present continues to grow as the premier supplier of lift truck accessories and different associated items. The company feels assured in their capability so as to continue to lead the way within the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining competitive in the global market.
In the nineteen fifties, Cascade started designing, fabricating and selling hydraulic accessories. Construction was finished in 1956 on a brand new office so as to accommodate all the plant and office operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's current center of operations. Following fifteen years of business, total employees reached a hundred and eighty staff and sales had reached practically two million three hundred thousand dollars.
The next production plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. nineteen sixty marked Cascade's preliminary move into the international world of the material handling industry as the business recognized interest in England, Australia, and the Netherlands.
In 1964, the company altered its name to the Cascade Corporation. Then in 1965, the business went public with a preliminary offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. Since then the company has expanded its manufacturing services throughout the continental US to the areas Warner Robins Georgia to go along with its already present plants in Springfield, Ohio and Portland, Oregon. Cascade merchandise are manufactured worldwide thanks to numerous subsidiary operations. In 1994, a brand new facility was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European command center. This plant is made to be the ultimate customer service centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in 1996 and the year 1997 with the dramatic acquisition of five companies, together with the worldwide best in blades, the Kenhar Corporation.
